Eco Factor: New timepieces uses both solar and battery power.
Enough of the hybrid cars, it’s time to witness clocks now. Coming straight from the house of Seiko watch Corporation are two hybrid clocks that are scheduled for release in Japan by late August. These stunning new timepieces bring both solar energy and battery power together. The two versions go by the name the SQ245S and the smaller SQ751W. Both of these clocks use solar and battery power to reduce the frequency at which batteries are needed to be replaced.
Seiko’s hybrid time tellers sport a LCD screen that displays time and date. The large top section can show either date or time depending on the users choice. They tell you absolutely correct time, thanks to radio-corrected quartz movement. You could also keep a check on the temperature and humidity, which is shown at the smaller portion at the bottom.
During times when the is in a place where it has sunlight at its disposal, it relies on solar power and when in a dark setting it switches over to auxiliary battery power. It requires about 8 hours of bright light per day, whereas the battery power would keep it ticking for 2.5 years. If you wish to get your hands over the SQ245S, you will have to part with $86.12, while the SQ751W will set you back by $61.51.
