Eco Factor: Low-emission tribrid scooter harnesses solar energy.
A team of students at the Canara Engineering College have created a low-emission tribrid scooter that harvests renewable solar energy using onboard photovoltaic panels. The V-Spark 3 scooter runs on conventional gasoline as well as electric motors. The energy consumed during electric transmissions is replenished by the solar panels.
The V-Spark 3 is based on the concept of a parallel hybrid system, which includes a single accelerator and speedometer for both transmissions. If one of the two engines fails during commute, the other one works to keep the vehicle moving.
