The Varyap Meridian luxury development in Atasehir, a posh suburban district of Istanbul, Turkey, is all set to augment its already illustrious state. The Varyap Merkez – a grandiosely impressive Shopping and Cultural Center – designed by eminent Turkish firm Emre Arolat Architects is nearing its completion, within the precincts of this mega project.
Flexibility is the name of the game in this ambitious design, where the architects aimed to nullify the effects of conventional spatial barriers. Though highly adaptable in its asymmetrical form, it’s not all about an artistic statement. The magnificent design incorporates the very latest green initiatives with its entire propensity. Like the whole roofing around a central courtyard, it’s covered by a massive terrace garden and the effective utilization of natural lighting. The main recreational center is situated beneath the green turf roof with four irregular shaped towers emerging from this structure. They symbolically denote the cultural zones like the theater, cinema hall and exhibition hall of Varyap Merkez.
This MIPIM award winning design is seriously expected to accentuate upon the economy of the Meridian Complex and even Turkey as a whole. Moreover, being located at the confluence of ‘East and West’, Varyap Merkez is envisaged to carry forth the shinning example our ‘green’ future.
