It can be pretty tough on your gas bills if you happen to have a huge SUV so that you have the required space and then need to fill up the tank each time with some fuel. It is a problem that most big families need to encounter. One such family realized that they were spending as much as $700 on the fuel each month and they decided that they had enough of it. So they went out to design something that is both easy on the ecology and on the economy. This is both an effort to save the planet and of course their own home.

Brent Hatch went out and created a used pedal-powered tourist mover for $2,000 and decked it out with some solar panels and an electric motor, and called it the SUV of the future. This really is the SUV of the future and that is something nice as it both makes sure that it saves on the use of fossil fuel and it also makes for a zero-free traveling. It’s certainly a lot slower than your average minivan, but for dropping the kids off at school and running errands around town it seems to be tremendously effective. The device has four sets of pedals and three small solar panels.

Now if that does not really always work or if the sun just refuses to come out on a certain day then you can just plug it in for some charge. It is really creative and something cool as it not only helps the family in saving plenty of cash but also makes sure that it helps the planet; even it is by default. Hopefully more people will follow the same path.
